ExCel Self-Cleaning Pulse Filter Systems

Long-Life Cartridges

At the core of Braden's pulse-cleaning system is the ExCel™ cartridge - a highly efficient filter designed to be pneumatically cleaned. The medias either cellulose, a synthetic blend, or 100% synthetic, corrugated and pleated to form a conical or cylindrical media pack. The media pack is supported by a zinc-plated expanded metal liner on the inner and outer face of the filter. Hot melt adhesive bonds the media pack to both liners. The liners and media pack are then sealed into the end caps. The top cap has a pre-mounted, solid-rubber ring gasket to provide the clean air seal between the cap and the system's header plate. Braden also offers this filter with all metal parts using 304 or 316 stainless steel for corrosive environments.

Fast, Powerful Cleaning

Upon initiation of pulse cleaning, a solid state timer is activated which, in turn, fires the solenoid/pneumatic valves. The pneumatic valves send a sharp burst (or "pulse") of compressed air through the blow pipes and into the cartridges. This sharp burst of compressed air produces a shock wave and a momentary reversal of normal airflow. The collected particulate matter is dislodged, cleaning the cartridge media.

High Filtration Performance

AC Fine/NaCI tests have proven that ExCel™ filters have efficiencies fo 99.95% or higher. With particles of 10 microns and up, efficiencies of essentially 100% are recorded, with correspondingly high efficiencies in the range of .4-100 microns. The ExCel™ filter has successfully passed the ARAMCO test.

Media Selection Guide

Cellulose

Special blend of select fibers designed to provide you with excellent efficiency and high air flow capacity. This media is extremely efficient at capturing fine dust.

Synthetic Blend

A blend of premium synthetic and cellulose fibers for heavy-duty applications offers increased durability and efficiency. Synthetic Blend Media is of great benefit in applications that have moisture related problems or use frequent pulsating (most popular brand).

Spun-Bonded Polyester

Braden's Spun-Bonded Polyester is formed by thermally bonding continuous fine-denier fibers. Along with its stiffness and very smooth surface, this fine fiber stucture media makes a filter with excellent efficiency plus superior cake release. The media is excellent for applications requiring abrasion, moisture or chemical resistance.

Premier Web

Special blend of select fibers designed to meet the harshest dust loading conditions. The media is extremely efficient and has a very robust mechanical strength.

New Nanomedia Filter Elements

In addition to cellulose, synthetic cellulose and synthetic media, Braden is pleased to announce its ExCel© Premier Web Filter products, which employ new nanomedia.

This new generation of nanofibers is specifically engineered to enhance the forces of pulse-cleaning. The ExCel Premier Web media is stronger and more durable than previous generations of nanofibers, providing extendedfilter life and longer filter intervals. Laboratory testing with particulate has shown an increased filter life over earlier nanomedia.

The new Braden ExCel Premier Web Filter offers additional performance benefits to gas turbine operators. Filter efficiency is substantially improved over previous traditional filters, rendering into a range of three times the equipment protection due to a 71% fractional efficiency versus 26% efficiency to traditional media on 0.3 to 0.4 micron particulate. The ExCel Premier Web Filters have consistently outperformed, delivering high level results in traditional conditions. Additionally, Braden's filter provides benefits of superior performance, amplified savings, and lasting durability.
