Role, Team & Location
We are looking for a Design Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our office in Heerlen. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting product designs by creating 3D models in Inventor and performing relevant calculations. You will also contribute to technical documentation for subcontractors and prepare specifications for essential purchasing components.
As a Design Engineer, you will work closely with other Design Engineers and report to the Business Unit Director Product Solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to further develop in engineering and technology within an international working environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a Design Engineer, you play a crucial role in the product design process. You will work on structural, mechanical, electrical, or piping components and assemblies in Inventor, CAD, and Vault, ensuring accurate manufacturing and client drawings for gas turbine auxiliary systems. You will also support the execution of calculations to optimize product designs.
In addition to design activities, you will maintain communication with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution. You will report progress, identify potential bottlenecks in time, and actively contribute to a structured work plan based on deadlines and time constraints.
Quality control and efficiency are essential in this role. You will ensure that designs and drawings are executed accurately within the agreed project schedule and actively work on broadening your technical knowledge and skills. Furthermore, you will be a knowledgeable partner for colleagues and provide proactive advice on technical solutions, taking into account laws, regulations, and customer requirements.
What You Bring
Experience & Education:
- Higher education in mechanical engineering (or equivalent);
- Knowledge of 3D design software, such as Inventor, CAD, and Vault;
- At least 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience.
Skills:
- Strong command of the English language;
- Excellent communication skills and a flexible working attitude;
- Affinity with technology and a proactive work mentality.
