We deliver performance and product efficiency for customers in power generation, oil & gas, petrochemical, and industrial sectors. Our offices are strategically positioned to provide global access to our expertise while maintaining a local focus in everything we do. We are a leading supplier of auxiliary equipment for major gas turbine OEMs and a trusted provider of aftermarket products and services for gas turbine operators worldwide.
Role, Team & Location
We are looking for a BID/Applications Leader to join our team. This position is located at our office in Cramlington, UK. In this role, you will be responsible for selecting and developing technical solutions that meet our customers’ requirements, preparing and submitting high-quality proposals, and supporting the business in securing new contracts. You will work closely with colleagues across engineering, costing, and sales, as well as directly with our customers, ensuring each proposal reflects Braden’s high standards for innovation, performance, and quality.
Your work will contribute directly to Braden’s purpose of reducing NOx and carbon emissions in energy generation, by developing technical and commercial offers that align with our mission toward sustainability and net-zero operations.
Key Responsibilities
As a BID/Applications Leader, you play a pivotal role in translating customer needs into successful, high-value proposals. You start by performing a thorough technical review of customer enquiry documents, selecting the most suitable products and systems in line with Braden’s guidelines, customer specifications, and relevant industry standards. You conduct the necessary technical calculations and compile detailed technical content for each bid, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
In this role, you often collaborate closely with the costing team to review estimates and align technical and commercial aspects of each proposal. You coordinate the bid preparation process with sales and lead bid or feasibility study reviews with both local and international colleagues across various disciplines. When required, you perform site surveys or assessments to support the technical accuracy of your bids and to better understand the specific operational context of each project.
You also review customer commercial documentation and prepare the commercial sections of the bids in accordance with Braden’s internal proxy rules. Acting as the company’s representative, you participate in meetings and communications with customers to discuss proposals, clarify requirements, and present Braden’s technical solutions confidently and professionally.
Beyond bid preparation, you provide technical applications support during contract execution, including occasional customer office and project site visits. You also share your expertise internally by delivering applications training to colleagues in contract execution teams. Staying at the forefront of technological development, you continuously enhance your knowledge—particularly in filtration and acoustic product applications—through ongoing learning and engagement with relevant industry events.
Your combination of technical expertise, commercial insight, and customer focus ensures that every proposal not only meets customer needs but also contributes to Braden’s long-term success in delivering sustainable energy solutions.
