Role, Team & Location

We are looking for an Epicor Kinetic Revenue Recognition Expert to join our team on a temporary basis (20 hours per week). This role is based at our office in Heerlen (the Netherlands), with the flexibility to work from a home-based office and plays a critical part in ensuring the correct setup, execution, and continuous improvement of our revenue recognition processes within Epicor Kinetic.

In this position, you will act as the go-to expert for translating complex revenue recognition requirements into a robust and compliant Epicor Kinetic configuration. You will work closely with stakeholders across Finance, IT, Project Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Sales to ensure accurate, audit-ready financial reporting.

 

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will take ownership of the revenue recognition setup within Epicor Kinetic, ensuring compliance with Dutch and German GAAP and internal policies. You will design, implement, and continuously improve the end-to-end revenue recognition process, from order intake through delivery and invoicing, ensuring reliable and auditable financial outcomes each reporting period.

You will serve as a trusted advisor to both management and system specialists, translating complex accounting principles into practical system solutions. By defining clear processes, controls, and work instructions, you will enable users to operate confidently within a well-structured and compliant framework. Coaching colleagues on best practices and system capabilities will be a key part of your contribution.

Additionally, you will support the organization in resolving complex system and data-related issues, particularly within revenue recognition. By analyzing root causes and implementing sustainable solutions, you will help ensure stable system performance and minimize disruptions to business operations.

 

What You Bring

Experience & Education:

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a quantitative or analytical field such as Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or Computer Science;
  • Proven academic and analytical capability at WO level;
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with Epicor Kinetic ERP (Kinetic 11), specifically in finance-impacting domains;
  • Strong expertise in revenue recognition methodologies and their implementation within ERP systems;
  • Experience working in complex, multi-company environments, preferably within engineering or manufacturing project-based settings.

Skills:

  • Advanced Epicor Kinetic configuration skills (BAQ, BPM, reporting);
  • Strong understanding of financial processes and their interaction with operational data;
  • Ability to translate accounting principles (e.g., Percentage-of-Completion, Cost-to-Cost) into system design;
  • Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders;
  • Fluent in English;
  • Experience with AI or Large Language Models is a plus.
