Role, Team & Location
We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our team. This role is located at our office in Lake Mary, Florida. In this role, you’ll take the lead within the project team in the technical execution of projects, from design and analysis to production preparation and quality assurance, ensuring that all engineering deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and in compliance with internal and external standards.
As Project Engineer, you will be a key link between Project Management, Design Engineers, Simulation Engineers, and external stakeholders such as clients and suppliers. You’ll work closely with the Engineering Manager to align on complex or strategic decisions, while independently managing the technical aspects of your projects. Hybrid working is possible, offering flexibility between working from the office and remotely.
Key Responsibilities
As a Project Engineer, you’ll take ownership of the technical design and execution throughout the entire project lifecycle. From the moment customer requirements are received, you will translate them into reliable, cost-effective engineering solutions. You’ll prepare and review detailed designs, drawings, and technical analyses, ensuring that every design decision is well-founded and fully compliant with project and client specifications.
You will coordinate the engineering team’s efforts, ensuring that drafting and simulation resources are effectively allocated and that all deliverables meet quality and timing requirements. Working closely with the Project Manager, you’ll facilitate communication between technical disciplines, clients, and suppliers, ensuring that all parties remain aligned on interfaces, documentation, and specifications.
In this role, you will also contribute to the production preparation phase. You’ll support the preparation of Bills of Materials (BOMs), Field Identification Lists (FILs), and ensure that all material requirements are accurately transferred to the ERP system. By performing internal and external interface checks, you’ll ensure that designs are ready for manufacturing and installation.
Your responsibilities extend beyond the drawing board, you’ll visit client sites, suppliers, and fabrication facilities when needed to review designs, address technical issues, or support commissioning activities. You’ll provide technical feedback and ensure that all safety, quality, and compliance requirements are met.
In addition to project-related tasks, you’ll actively contribute to continuous improvement within the engineering department. You’ll support the development of new tools, share best practices, and help enhance design quality and efficiency. Finally, you’ll act as a trusted advisor to both colleagues and external partners, offering expert guidance on technical decisions and their commercial implications.
