Role, Team & Location
The 3rd Line IT Engineer role is based at our office in Heerlen. As a 3rd Line IT Engineer your role is a key technical position that requires a mix of strategic project involvement and operational IT support. You will be responsible for resolving complex IT challenges, designing robust IT solutions, and ensuring that Braden’s ICT infrastructure remains resilient, scalable, and aligned with business needs. Your expertise will contribute significantly to project execution (70%) while also providing essential operational support (30%).
This role involves close collaboration with vendors, internal teams, and key stakeholders. You will be instrumental in implementing automation, improving system efficiency, and ensuring a secure and sustainable IT environment that supports Braden’s long-term business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will contribute to both the strategic and operational aspects of IT at Braden. You play a key role in designing and implementing advanced IT solutions that align with the company’s current and future needs. Leveraging your expertise, you ensure a stable and efficient IT infrastructure, utilizing automation and monitoring to optimize processes and enhance overall performance.
Collaboration is at the heart of your work. You will work closely with internal teams and external vendors to develop innovative IT solutions and implement change initiatives. Your ability to advise stakeholders on technological improvements and drive IT process optimization will be instrumental in further professionalizing Braden’s IT landscape.
Beyond project-based initiatives, you will be responsible for resolving complex technical issues. When operational escalations arise, you act swiftly and effectively, applying your in-depth knowledge of Microsoft and Azure environments, networking, and database management to provide reliable support and minimize downtime.
You also play an active role in knowledge sharing within the team. Through workshops and documentation, you help colleagues develop their skills and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Working with an agile mindset, you contribute to structured project execution, supporting sprint planning and ensuring clear documentation of progress.
Sustainability is an integral part of your work. You continuously seek ways to optimize IT processes and implement sustainable technologies that align with Braden’s environmental and social responsibility goals.
What You Bring
Experience & Education:
- Higher professional education (HBO) level, preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in Microsoft and Azure Systems Administration.
- Relevant certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-700, and SC-100 are highly desirable.
Skills:
- Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure, networking, and SQL database administration.
- Familiarity with PowerShell scripting, Azure DevOps, Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with Dynamics 365 and Power Platform is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills, a proactive and client-focused attitude, and a collaborative mindset.
