Role, Team & Location
The role Inside Sales Engineer is based at our office in Heerlen. This position is ideal for a technically skilled professional with a commercial mindset who enjoys working in a fast-paced international environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive proposals for spare parts and site services. You play a key part in maintaining strong relationships with existing customers while identifying new business opportunities. You will work cross-functionally with engineering and operations to deliver optimal technical and commercial solutions to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
As an Inside Sales Engineer, you are responsible for the full process from enquiry to quotation, order processing and shipment for our spare parts and site services. Upon receiving a customer request, you register the enquiry and assign a sales project number. You handle each request in accordance with internal procedures, ensuring professional follow-up and consistency.
You convert technical specifications into commercially viable proposals in close collaboration with engineering. You prepare accurate cost calculations and ensure quotes are aligned with project requirements. During the process, you provide regular updates to management regarding proposal status, financials, and timelines.
You maintain regular contact with clients by phone, email, or in person, strengthening relationships and identifying follow-up opportunities. You document sales activities in our systems, and keep pricing data on materials, labour, and subcontracting up to date.
You also work with engineering to gather product data and verify that proposed solutions meet current design standards. Beyond your core activities, you contribute to the continuous improvement of internal quotation and order transfer procedures. You may also represent Braden at trade shows, helping to grow our client base. You are open to further training and ready to take on additional responsibilities when needed.
What You Bring
Experience & Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an estimator or proposal engineer in a technical (steel fabrication or related) environment
Technical Skills:
- Understanding of fabrication processes, shop standards, and materials
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Basic knowledge of CAD systems
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as Epicor, and CRM tools
- Commercial acumen and understanding of customer needs
- Excellent command of the English language
