Role, Team & Location

We are looking for an Operations Engineer to join our Plant Upgrade Solutions (PUS) team. This position is based at our office in Cramlington, UK. In this role, you act as the essential link between office-based project planning and on-site execution, ensuring that all project scopes are completed on time, within budget, and in full compliance with both technical and safety standards.

You will report to the Operations Manager – Plant Upgrade Solutions UK and collaborate closely with site teams, contractors, and internal business units to achieve seamless coordination across all project stages—from preparation to commissioning and final handover.

Key Responsibilities

As an Operations Engineer, you play a central role in ensuring the successful delivery of our upgrade and retrofit projects. You coordinate on-site operations to maintain smooth progress through every project phase and work directly with site teams and contractors to resolve challenges swiftly and effectively. You regularly perform site inspections and audits to verify compliance with both safety regulations and technical standards, ensuring that all field activities meet Braden’s high-quality expectations.

Throughout the project lifecycle, you provide hands-on support during commissioning, testing, and handover phases. You prepare and maintain comprehensive site documentation, including risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and complete site files, ensuring that all records are accurate and compliant. You plan and schedule equipment completion and shipment dates according to contractual requirements, and when necessary, you arrange official inspections on behalf of customers.

Your role involves active communication and collaboration with other Braden business units to secure the supply of gas turbine ancillary equipment and technical support. You interpret and communicate engineering drawings clearly to all relevant parties and coordinate the sourcing of subcontract resources such as personnel, equipment, and materials. You manage all customer correspondence—including drawing transmittals, technical reports, requests for information (RFIs), technical queries (TQs), and other project-related documentation—ensuring clear and professional communication at every stage.

In addition, you assist with customer billing and receivables collection as part of contract and field service management. You prepare detailed project status reports, including bi-weekly and monthly updates, providing full transparency to both customers and internal stakeholders. A key part of your responsibility is to uphold safety as a core value: you enforce safety protocols consistently and promote a strong culture of safe practices across all sites. Finally, you ensure that all activities comply with relevant government regulations, industry standards, and Braden’s internal policies, contributing to the delivery of projects that meet our customers’ expectations for excellence and reliability.
