Role, Team & Location

We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our team in the UK, Cramlington. In this role, you take a key position within the engineering team, combining strong technical expertise with a coordinating role across projects.

You will work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure that engineering deliverables are accurate, complete, and delivered on time. Acting as a functional lead within projects, you guide engineers, align technical decisions, and ensure that designs meet both customer expectations and industry standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

As a Project Engineer, you are responsible for driving the technical execution of projects from design through to production preparation. You ensure that engineering solutions are not only technically sound but also practical, cost-effective, and aligned with project requirements.

You take ownership of complex designs and analyses, translating specifications into high-quality drawings and documentation for gas turbine auxiliary systems. At the same time, you act as the central point of contact for technical matters, coordinating closely with project teams, clients, and suppliers to ensure smooth communication and progress.

Within projects, you structure and guide engineering activities, supporting resource planning and mentoring engineers where needed. You contribute to design reviews, validate technical documentation, and ensure that all deliverables comply with applicable standards, regulations, and contractual requirements.

Beyond project execution, you play an active role in improving engineering processes and maintaining quality standards. You are regularly involved in discussions with stakeholders, providing technical advice and acting as a strong sparring partner on both engineering and commercial considerations.

 

What You Bring

Experience & Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Experience as a Project Engineer or strong experience as a Design Engineer ready for the next step

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in tools such as Inventor, AutoCAD, and Vault
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills
  • A structured and detail-oriented working style with a hands-on mentality
  • Ability to work independently while also acting as a team player and mentor
